What a collection of bread tags we have now ready to be dropped off to “Bread Tags for Wheelchairs NZ.” Natural Steps Albany children and community continue to collect bread tags for this special cause which sells collections of bread tags to fund wheelchairs for those in need. A great way to recycle these pesky little pieces of plastic that often go into landfill.
Each morning we see tamariki and their whanau bringing in their collection of bread tags from home, sparking conversations of “Will these turn into a wheel chair?”
Not only are tamariki learning about the recycling and reusing of plastic but concepts of early mathematics are explored as children count, sort, pattern and group each bread tag prior to passing these on.
